
Littoral Lotto: Assessing fishing and aquaculture gear in the Scottish Islands
Together with the Marine Conservation Society, we have been working to better understand the types of litter impacting island communities. To help us do this, we have developed a supplementary survey to help build this evidence base looking at 15 specific items of fishing and aquaculture gear that has been found as litter on Scottish Islands. We anticipate that this survey will be suitable for use in the litter hotspots where the full Beachwatch survey is impractical, and/or with less experienced surveyors.
